About
Who reviews these tools
Curiorocketscoutsl is an independent site about pocket tools for electricians. We write for working electricians and apprentices, in plain words.
Apprentice panel
Apprentices who tell us what is confusing, what is missing and what the first-year kit list really needs.
Editor
Checks every claim against standards, regulations and manufacturer manuals before a page goes live.
How we look at a tool
- Pocket first: does it earn a spot in the chest, thigh or pouch pocket, or does it belong in the van?
- Standards: does it carry a rating to IEC 61010 or IEC 60900 where one applies, and does it meet HSE GS38 guidance for probes and leads?
- Daily use: is it comfortable, readable and quick when your hands are full?
- Failure mode: what goes wrong when the battery fades or the tool is dropped?
Independence
We do not take payment for reviews or placement. Brand names on these pages are examples of a type of tool, not endorsements. If that ever changes, we will say so clearly on the page concerned.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, tell us using the contact page. We will check it against the standard or the manual, and fix the page. Safety-related corrections are made first.
What this site is not
It is not training and it is not a substitute for BS 7671, manufacturer instructions or your employer's safe working procedures. Use it to choose and organise tools, then follow the rules of your trade.
